Contextual,
conscious &
soulful design.
Architecture and interiors rooted in place — by Ranjeet & Shreenu Mukherjee, practising across India since 2012.
We design not for the moment of arrival, but for the decade of living within. Every material, proportion, and silence is chosen with the understanding that beauty deepens with time.
A design and architecture practice based in Gurugram — working across residential, hospitality, and heritage spaces across India since 2012.
Projects rooted
in place.

Apartment Interior
A quiet, light-filled home where material honesty shapes every corner.

Luxury Homestay
A tapestry of jewel tones across five thousand square feet.

Farm House
Self-sufficient living in sync with nature, site, and season.

Garden Home
A home built to withstand disaster and carry light through every season.

Heritage House
An heirloom home — regal, restrained, rooted in its grounds.

Café Interior
A warm, social room shaped for slow mornings and longer conversations.
A process as
deliberate as the work itself.
Consultation
Every project begins with a conversation. We take time to understand you — your lifestyle, aspirations, and how you envision living within the space. By the end, we share a clear understanding of the project's ambitions and how we will work together.
Site Analysis
Before a single line is drawn, we study the site. Its orientation, topography, vegetation, climate patterns, and immediate context. This deep reading of place ensures that what we design belongs to its location, rather than being imposed upon it.
Concept Design
Ideas take form. The spatial organisation, the architectural language, the material palette, and the experiential character of the project. Your feedback shapes and refines the concept until we arrive at a direction that resonates deeply.
Detail Development
A good concept must be built on precise thinking. We resolve every junction, material, and proportion into fully developed technical drawings — the complete blueprint from which contractors and craftspeople will work.
Execution Guidance
Design does not end on paper. We remain closely involved through construction, making regular site visits, liaising with engineers and craftspeople, and ensuring the finished space carries the same integrity as the original vision.

Built on six
uncompromising beliefs.
An Evolving Practice, Not a Formula
We deliberately avoid a signature style. Each project is a fresh response to its brief, its site, and its client — which is why our portfolio spans heritage homes, farmhouses, cafés, and studio apartments with no two looking alike.
Ecological Conviction
Sustainable design is not an add-on for us. It has been central to our practice since our years in Auroville. We bring material knowledge, passive design strategies, and ecological sensitivity to every commission.
Published, Peer-Recognised Work
Our projects have been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and ArchDaily — not through self-promotion, but because the work stands up to editorial scrutiny.
Two Disciplines, One Vision
With Ranjeet's architectural training and Shreenu's interior design expertise working in tandem from the outset, architecture and interiors are conceived as a single integrated experience rather than handed off between separate teams.
Honest, Direct Engagement
We take on a limited number of projects at a time to ensure that every client receives the founders' personal attention from brief to handover.
Rooted in Indian Context
Every design decision responds to India's climate, craft traditions, and material culture. We work with local artisans, regional materials, and construction techniques that honor the place where the building will stand.
The practice, in motion.
“Vrindavan Project offers a fantastic quality of service throughout the whole process of designing and building. Ranjeet and Shreenu are professional, pleasant, capable, and above all, easy-going and enlightened human beings. They designed our house with the present and future needs of our family at the heart of it, and the result is a beautiful, highly efficient and sustainable building.”

Ranjeet &
Shreenu Mukherjee.
Ranjeet attended The Doon School before graduating from the Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University, Ahmedabad. He then spent five years as a citizen of Auroville — where he met Shreenu, an interior designer trained at L.S. Raheja School of Architecture, Mumbai.
In 2012, they embarked upon a journey to explore ecologically sensitive, contextually appropriate design and construction techniques. Their practice is an evolving process — one that grows organically and adapts to each task with complete flexibility.
The overall resultant continuum is a ‘Project’ in itself — not static or set in any particular form. Vrindavan is a reference to the Divine abode. Therefore — The Vrindavan Project.
